Hello, I’m Krysia.
I’m a qualified dog trainer based in Annan, Dumfries & Galloway, and I share my life with my two dogs, Eddie and Blaze. Eddie loves scent-based activities, while Blaze thrived in agility. Their enthusiasm inspired my own love for dog sports, which has grown into the heart of my training.
My real journey into dog training started in 2014, when Eddie, a lively Lab x Springer x Cocker, bounded into my life. He had endless energy, a nose that never stopped sniffing, and no recall to speak of! Traditional advice and methods just didn’t sit right with me, so I began learning about modern, force-free training. Eddie ended up leading me down a whole new path, and I haven’t looked back.
In 2018, I launched my first dog business, offering dog walking and pet care, which gave me invaluable hands-on experience with many breeds and behavioural needs. Around the same time, I discovered dog sports; Eddie excelled in scentwork, while Blaze shone in agility and that’s when I found my passion.
After moving to Cumbria and working in rescue for two years, I realised how much I missed helping dogs and their families directly. That’s when The Creative Canine was bor

Today, I specialise in:
- Scentwork classes and workshops for beginners through to advanced teams
- Scent sports, including catnip retrieve, scent matching and trailing
- Reactivity support, using Scentwork to help dogs feel calmer and more focused around others
I’m a certified Scent Work Instructor with the World Scent Dog Association (WSDA), a UK Scent Sport qualified & accredited Instructor (UKSS), and an approved Kids Around Dogs (KAD) professional, supporting children, of any age, in overcoming their fear of dogs. I’m also currently studying a 3-year canine behaviour course with the School of Canine Science to deepen my knowledge.
My training is always kind, science-based and force-free. I work with dogs of all ages and breeds across Dumfries & Galloway, The Scottish Borders, North Cumbria and the Western side of Northumberland, helping guardians discover the power of scent and enjoy a calmer, stronger bond with their dogs.
And to think, it all started with one enthusiastic spaniel mix and a very questionable recall.
